Artist Statement

A Lost Art. A Never-Ending Journey.

There once was a tiny spark, an inspiration and a gleam of talent. As a child and into adolescence, this spark was nurtured into a tiny, beautiful flame. Snuffed by the diseases of alcoholism and addiction, this small flicker was reduced to barely embers for years. With recovery, these embers once again sparked into a blaze, with new fuel for the fire.

This is how I view my journey through art and expression. I choose to take the stance of student; a beginner, I know nothing. This opens the door to broad horizons, where I am free to learn and to use my hands and my mind, my intuition. I can listen to that inner “something” that guides me to create an inspirational piece that is sublime and embodies a connection that cannot be replaced by anything else in this world. We can meet on this common ground and together share something that surpasses words.

The possibilities are limitless and the road knows no bounds.
